That Time of Year!

Hello folks,

It has been quite awhile since I have created a post, and I feel guilty that I haven’t been able to squeeze any personal blogging time into my weekly schedule.  It is that time of year for an educator where you are running around like a chicken-with-its-head-cut-off-on-steroids.  It isn’t a question of what should I do but rather the question is how am I ever going to get all of this done by June 30? Thus,  the concept of work/life balance doesn’t really exist right now.  Thank goodness the long weekend is less than a week away.  I hope to be able to dedicate time next weekend, Canada’s first long weekend of the summer, to some blogging and gardening.  This week I am madly prepping for school plan day, which is this Friday. I feel that this is such an important day  for staff;  but to be honest right now, I and many staff members do not possess a lot of gas in the gas tank.  I am really questioning if May is the best time to do school planning.  I’m thinking the end of August or end of September might be a better time.  We would have all of 2016/2017 staff present, and everyone would be well rested and possess a fresh mindset.

To all educators near and far, hang in there!!  Summer vacation is coming faster than we probably want it to!!

My upcoming blog post will focus on PLC’s, PBL, High School and Balanced Literacy and  a few other ideas that have been whirling, literally, in my head.

Have a wonderful week!

Ingrid
